HOW WE GOT STARTED

bsoldier-soft

The BSMC Lafayette Chapter began via an inquiry and research by the chapter’s eventual founder, Donald “Mechco” Meche. Meche interacted with other local BSMC chapters involvement of other riding associates. A petition for chapter status was eventually filed. Meche, Sessil Trepagnier and Terry Taylor collectively became the original co-founders of the Lafayette Chapter, Meche being the founder of record. As such, the BSMC Lafayette, L.A. Chapter was founded in May of 2006, becoming the 51st Chapter of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers & Trooper Motorcycle Clubs.

The Chapter maintains its comittment to the mission of the NABSTMC, duty through community service projects and continual efforts of education to all on the rich history of the “Buffalo Soldiers”.

THE BUFFALO SOLDIER’S MC CREED

I am a Buffalo Soldier, and as a Buffalo Soldier I will uphold the standards and traditions set forth by my Buffalo Soldiers and Trooper Motorcycle Clubs.

I am proud of my colors and the rich history that they represent. I will wear my colors with pride and will do all within my power to educate the general public about the rich history of the 9th and 10th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers.

I respect my colors and my Buffalo Soldiers sisters and brothers, and when my riding days come to an end, I wish to be remembered, as one who served with dignity as a responsible biker and a proud Buffalo Soldier.
